The driftwood is a piece of memorabilia from one of our first dates... we found it during a walk on Gooseberry Island in Westport.
Speaking of which, we'll be headed there next weekend....bringing along a good, good friend who is in need of a good dose of sun, sand, sea air and laughter....we love you MB!

If you'd like to see how this was made hop on over to Restoration House where I got the inspiration - Kimberley put together a very helpful tutorial.

I like the idea, Diane!
The sea, its always good for the soul. A trip to the sea can always be such a refreshing way to re-group. The ocean and i have a special connection. I'll have to tell ya about that one day, lol. Long story. Love the candleholder! Simply beauty, it looks so pretty lit up, and isnt it nice owning things of such sentiment. Have a fun, safe trip....Bonnie

Oh Diane,
It turned out great! My hubby made me something similar, but quite smaller with a an old trunk. And now that I see how pretty yours looks displayed on the table I think I'll bring mine out of storage and diplay them too. You have inspired me too. Have a wonderful weekend.
