Blissful White Wednesday

Today I'm linking up with Becky from TimeWashed and her popular Blissful White Wednesday with a snippet of some of my Christmas Whites this year....

I don't work at Kohl's Department Store but....

 I sure spent a good amount of time in the tree trimming section snapping pics of some of their pretty Christmas ornaments 

New Life for a Crib Mattress Frame

I bought this frame at the White Home Collections last Spring (no pun intended)

I tucked a few fabric squares (from this post) into the springs and attached it to a free standing french door that's propped up in a corner of our living room

The wood sides are painted a very light shade of seafoam green and the patina on the springs is imperfectly perfect!

I'd love to say that the idea of using the fabric squares in this way was my brain child but I remembered it from something similar that I saw on Amy Chalmer's blog Maison Decor

Procrastination is my middle name....

 I watched this beauty for a long time in Marie's Maison Etsy shop

Today I went back to swoon some more....

and swoon I did...with a hot flash and kick to myself in the pants..."SOLD" (and not to me!)

Summer is flying by...

I haven't posted in a while but certainly have kept up with all of yours...

Chair Makeover

When I bought this chair I thought... paint it white, drop a potted plant into the open seat and place it on my front doorstep.  

 But that didn't happen....this did...

From a piece of plywood my husband fashioned a seat and I covered it with my favorite fabric (which I think is actually bedding material - but who knows because I don't even know the name of it...remember this post!)

This was my kind of project - the chair is petite so it took no time at all :)

Copying is the greatest form of flattery...

And so I am pleased to flatter Bonnie at The Hopeless Romantic by copying her idea for a makeshift ceiling medallion I saw on her post here

This is the frame in the state I bought it a few years back

As much as I loved it's chippy shade of pink...Bonnie changed my mind.

I gave it a few coats of ASCP in pure white and with my cordless drill screwed it to the ceiling.

I painted our front door

I used Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint in Antoinette - it's a very soft shade of pink.

It only took two coats to cover the wisteria color and the dry time in between coats was less than an hour.

As much as I liked this look.... it was time for a change.

Need help in locating a source

I've tried and tried.... to no avail (and frankly have lost patience)

I'm hoping one of you knows the source in the hopes that it's a print I can purchase.

Keeping my fingers crossed :)

I'm Channeling my Mom...

and these pretty fabric squares are proof!

My Mom loved to quilt and never passed up a bargain on material...

....and so there I was browsing Cheryl's booth at House at 755 when I was immediately drawn to this pretty bundle

106!! of them measuring 6x6 each

C'mon Mom.....channel me in some of your quilting talents!!!!
