Dining Room Seat Cover Saga....

I fell out of love with the burlap seat covers that I once adored.... (too itchy, too dark)

So out of curiosity, I removed one and found a pretty white matelasse fabric underneath. Cool, I thought.....until I decide on something else this will do. Then as I removed the burlap from the remaining seats, 3 out of the 6 had some stains that I couldn't live with (even for a little while)

So I took that fabric off to find this 80's ish style fabric that was in great shape but not at all to my taste. Headed out to the fabric store where I spent nearly two hours before deciding on something I liked....only to find there wasn't enough material to cover all six seats....ugh!

So off to the department stores I went - looking at tablecloths, drapes, shower curtains, slipcovers.... ANYTHING with a pattern I liked that I could cut up and fashion seat covers out of.

And I scored.... at KMart of all places! Oatmeal Sweet Rose Damask curtain panels by Country Living. I'm officially back in love with my dining room chairs!

This is the picture from the packaging....so pretty against the pale blue walls....it's got me thinking.... :)

Wow, those turned out beautifully! I never would've thought to use curtains before! You did a great job:)

I chuckled at your comment on my blog about fueling your fire for a dollhouse. My husband knows that building me one is on his to-do list, right now we just don't have the room for one but someday!!!
