Every Girl Needs a Little Black Dress...

I bought two (in different styles)..... and just as I would do when choosing between two dress styles.....I held them up to my husband and asked "which one?"

And how great was it that he just so happened??? to choose the one I liked best! :)

A perfect fit!!!

It's what you make of it....

I bought this at Home Goods the other day - it was in the kitchen section so I suppose it was intended to hold wooden spoons, wisks and such. My intention was to use it to hold pens and pencils on my desk but once I got it home I thought differently.

I still had more of those little terracotta pot napkin rings (see my prior post) and always have plenty of votive candles on hand....so why not?

And the tags that I bought from Etsy and was wondering what to do with them (two posts ago).... well, I'm no longer wondering!! :)

Pleasantly surprised....

Are these not the sweetest?

Sometimes on-line pictures just don't do the products justice when you view them on Etsy or eBay and then YES!! you're bowled over when the package arrives.
I ordered these little darlings from A Joy to be Held and I cannot wait to find a place for them among my things....

It's fun playing dress up...

I started to paint this dress form that I recently purchased at a consignment shop and then remembered to take a before picture so that's why it's in a half-painted stage at this point....

Here she is all dressed up and ready to "show"!

I fashioned a belt using scrunched ribbon (which I finally figured out how to make myself), clipped on some keys from a necklace I no longer wear, a chandelier crystal and a pair of lovely earrings my Mother in-law made for me.

I went through my bag of vintage bridal lace and trim that was passed down to me by my Grandmother and came up with a great piece of lace that fit perfectly as a shoulder wrap. For the finishing touch, I glued on the Paris "buttons" .... ahem....stickers..

Sunday find...

I reached for this book the moment I stepped into the booth space of A Cottage Muse at the Wrentham Country Store. I was surprised to find that it was actually a faux book (made of wood and painted white). Nonetheless, I scooped it up, continued my browsing....but not really paying much attention as all the while I was mentally taking inventory of my craft supplies and what I might have to add to the charm of this darling book.

And this is what I came up with....

A bow made from a bit of scrunched and tea stained seam binding.

A few faux crystals in various sizes...

And some tissue paper cut and glued to fit the edges.

For those of you not lucky enough to visit the Wrentham Country Store in person.....you can visit her etsy shop at A Cottage Muse for a gander at all her wonderful offerings!
