Perhaps my Mother in Law was right... too many numbers going on in my dining area (yes...I value her opinion - and you know why...she's honest!)
I hot glued sand dollars onto the muslin squares and then hand basted them onto the shade (just in case I change my mind again)

I like it both ways!! But the sand dollars are really a sweet detail!!

Mother-in-laws really are wonderful. I love mine to bits! Although I do like the numbers I have to admit that the sand dollars is a much prettier look. You always have beautiful ideas, I am jealous!!
