I'm not complaining though because I love them already, even with just a coat of primer
I also plan to change the wall color and I'm leaning towards Natural Elements #1515 by Benjamin Moore (not sure if I should have done that prior to the cabinets but it's too late now!)
It's looking gorgeous! We painted our cabinets a few years ago, and have been so happy since, it brightened up our tiny kitchen, and freshened up the look.
Okay Diane I need pointers. Specific kind of paint...did you sand first etc. etc. I would LOVE to paint mine eventually. I know yours will be beautiful!! Oh and are you using a brush or roller?? :) Hugs~
I felt the same way with just the coat of primer. It's like a breath of fresh air to walk into the kitchen, now. Your kitchen is looking great. Good luck finishing and I hope you have a nice weekend! ~Michelle :D
It will look great! I've seen so many painting their kitchen white I know I'm going to be next! I'm looking forward to following your kitchen as it progresses. Linda
How exciting Diane....Can't wait to see it all done. It might be a little late but have you heard about Rust-Oleum Cabinet Transformation Kits? Just read about them...www.rustoleumtransformations.com...Just thought I'd share. Have a wonderful new week.
Our kitchen had wood toned cabinets too. Several years ago I painted them white. A couple weeks ago we re-did the entire room to white. Love it! Oak is a nice wood, but in my opinion looks better painted. :-)
Hi, my name is Diane and I'm a lover of decorating with a penchant for anything white and worn. It's rare for me to drive past a yard sale or flea market and I'm not above going through others trash. Some of my best finds have been picked up on the side of the road..... a pair of beveled glass french doors, a white iron settee, window shutters, white picket fencing...to name but a few. I'm lucky enough to live within an hours driving time to the Brimfield Antiques Fair which, to my delight, is held three times a year.
